Infamous Eduard Hanslick's critique of Bruckner's symphonies being "symphonic boa constrictors" is only deserved as long as one listens to Bruckner's music with a secular ear. Once one opens up to Bruckner's heavenly dimension, all modern-day impatience and restlessness quickly fades away. His music is PRAYER. Also, calling him "bumpkin" - or "simpleton", as Gustav Mahler did - only shows us that judging people by their outward appearance (or conduct) ever so often misses the point. But, most underrated composer of all time: Absolutely!

I myself didn't have an internet connection before that crucial year of 2008. Though not an American, I was following the 2008 election campaign very closely. At some point, I even contacted the chief editor of Canada Free Press, Judi McLeod, and we were having a little exchange for a while, sharing our impressions e.g. about the shocking (and foreboding) dresses of Michelle Obama and her daughters on election night (cfile7.uf.tistory.com/image/17492B4B50A2DCDA273858). The open-mic incident was in fact with Russian President of the day, Dmitri Medvedev, at a Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, South Korea. The brief conspiratorial exchange between the two men (one from Moscow "headquarters" and the other his stealth comrade in Washington D.C.) actually went like this: Obama: "“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space.” Medvedev: "Yeah, I understand, I understand your message about space. Space for you . . ." Obama: "This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.” Medvedev: "I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir [Putin] and I stand with you." P.S. First time I have visited your website and it seems that you are very well informed. I really appreciated your interview of Tom. I told many people about what Tom wrote 8 years ago and they think that he and I are crazy, when we know who the really crazy one IS! I have searched for his piece a few times over the last 5 years to point friends to. I heard another interview a few years ago and it was not nearly as thorough as yours was. Thank you for that interview and posting it on UA-cam, where other people can hear it too.

This wasn't "my" interview, but an interview hosted by American geopolitical analyst J. R. Nyquist. I merely took the mp3-file and made it into a UA-cam presentation. As for other interviews featurung Tom Fife's report, there was one hosted by Jeff Rense and another one presented, I forgot, maybe by Rick Wiles. But definitely this one is the best as the interviewer is an expert on these issues and thus he asks the right questions. Actually, I have on my blog both interviews, the one hosted by Nyquist and the other hosted by Rense, as meticulous transcripts. It's such a shame that Mr. Fife wasn't assisted by either his American or his British colleague whom he had worked with at the time in "newly democratised" Russia in getting his story across. It would have been so much harder to ignore (or ridicule), had there been two or even three people telling this same story together. Do check out J. R. Nyquist's books (first among them: Origins of the Fourth World War) as well his first-class website, www.jrnyquist.com! Regarding the overall Marxist background of Barack Obama, read the two books by Trevor Loudon, "The Enemies Within" and "Barack Obama and the Enemies Within" (there will soon come out a documentary film titled, "The Enemies Within": enemieswithinmovie.com), as well as Aaron Klein's "The Manchurian President" and Stanley Kurtz's "Radical in Chief". Of course, the standard reaction - also here in Europe, where I live - is complete disbelief. People look at you as a conspiracy monger. Which is why, when trying to get these horrible truths across to others, one must choose an approach sufficiently acceptable for them so they would listen further rather than shut down immediately. It takes great psychological (as well as rhetorical) skill to do this, and I wouldn't claim to have mastered this art in my own native language of German. The general public today, sadly, is so heavily indoctrinated by Marxism (including the even subtler variant of cultural Marxism) that in many cases they are simply unable, unfit to SEE what is right in front of them.

To get over your doubts, you might be interested in reading the two books by outstanding Soviet defector Anatoliy Golitsyn, New Lies for Old (1984), and The Perestroika Deception (1995). Good point I have read them both and I am sure that what Golisyn was telling the CIA, was part of the reason many good, patriotic CIA agents were forced out back in the 1970's. Agents who were actively searching for moles, double-agents that had infiltrated the agency!!!

In his first interview on the perestroika deception, held by Bill McIlhaney in 1995 (ua-cam.com/video/zkw8nwHG2GM/v-deo.html), British analyst Christopher Story (1938 - 2010) - who was the editor of Golitsyn's second book, The Perestroika Deception - said the following about the importance of Anatoliy Golitsyn: "Golitsyn is the most important defector ever to have reached the West. He came out, actually, in 1961 - he fled to Finland in 1961, with his family. And he revealed the existence of a long-range strategy of deception based on Lenin’s principles. And his importance is that all defectors who’ve come since him appear to have been engaged in an attempt to refute what he says. So, we look to Golitsyn as the source of proper insights into what the communists are really up to." There's no indication of Mr. Fife not being around today. It seems he just wanted to get this report of his out, without any further personal ambitions attached. - As for the other American, Tom Fife was asked by Jeff Nyquist about that in this very interview, and Mr. Fife explained that their joint business collapsed which is why they ceased to have contact with each other.

No doubt, Solti was extraordinarily capable as well as extraordinarily hard-working. The lazy, the mediocre, the self-absorbed have always hated such men holding higher aspirations, and so their label of a "controversial" competitor most conveniently excused their own shortcomings and laziness. The same is true, of course, of the wonderful Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which - elevated by Solti to such enormous heights - increasingly put other world-class European orchestras, including the old and unruly lady known as the Vienna Philharmonic, to complete shame.

Contemplatix Nicely said. I heard Solti conduct the Shostakovich 10th, sitting about 50 feet from him in Chicago's Orchestra Hall. I occasionally still get wobbly on my feet when I think of the power of that experience.

David Whitehouse Wow! You're a time witness! I missed so many great conductors here in Vienna, including Solti! Unfortunately, both the "lazy geniuses" of the Vienna Philharmonic, despite their marvellous musicality, and the painful Vienna audience have made me stay away from concert halls long ago.

Also saw Giulini make his American debut on a rainy saturday night Pops concert in Chicago, paying a dollar for my ticket. Aside from being tremendously impressed with him I remember the Tchaikovsky 2nd Symphony being on the program. Also remember him conducting the Cherubini Requiem.
